The Making:
What makes "Universal Hall" truly special is its origin story. The album was birthed in the spiritual hub of Findhorn, Scotland, with tracks mostly penned and entirely produced amidst this unique environment. The Waterboys, led by the visionary Mike Scott, took full advantage of the setting, allowing the location's energy to seep into every chord and lyric. Mike’s description of the album as encapsulating the "vision that drives, challenges, sustains and transforms" him is evident in every track.
Another significant aspect of this album is the return of the band’s iconic fiddler, Steve Wickham. His appearance marks the first since "Room To Roam" in 1990, infusing "Universal Hall" with the distinct sound that many Waterboys fans had missed.
For vinyl aficionados, this edition of "Universal Hall" is particularly special. Not only is it the first time the album is available in vinyl format, but it's also pressed on stunning 180g 'Seville' orange vinyl, adding a tactile richness to the auditory experience.
