Rory & The Island The Centre Falls Apart
Rory & The Island The Centre Falls Apart
The Centre Falls Apart is Rory Gallaghers' 4th studio album since going solo in 2008. Following a series of sold out virtual shows, 2 singles were released from the album "When the Lights Go Down" and "Miss This". Both tracks reached No.1 on the overall iTunes charts in Ireland and Top 10 in the UK iTunes songwriter charts. The album is melodic modern folk with nods to indie-rock and even 1970s Disco. It draws inspiration from diverse sources such as The Beatles, Luka Bloom, Neil Finn, George Ezra and Squeeze.
Rory Gallagher, as the lead singer with indie-punk-pop trio The Revs , was picked up 3 "Best Newcomer" Awards from Hotpress Dublin, BigBuzz Belfast and the IRMA Meteor Award in 2002. He has co-written songs with a wide range of artists including Finbar Furey, Sharon Shannon, Derek Ryan, Josh McClorey of The Strypes.
